Imagined as a tribute to the album AKAGERA, released in 1980 by the trio made up of Humair, Jeanneau and Texier, this new trio have plans to continue to forge their path deeper into this direction.
In 1980, a lion and lioness’s head illustrated the album sleeve. Here, a zebra pattern is the brandished standard. Just like their illustrious elders, the Akakgera Trio draw their influences from African music (Akagera is the name of a natural reserve in Rwanda, on the Tanzanian border), but also from jazz and contemporary (also called repetitive) music.
